Windows 10 displays the ‘Caps Lock on’ message every time you press the Caps key. The OS may also play a specific sound when you press the Caps key.
If you don’t want your computer to notify you every time you enable Caps Lock, you can disable these alerts and sounds.
Of course, you can also hold down the Shift key and press the corresponding letter key to capitalize a letter. That’s one workaround to avoid Caps Lock alerts.
With Windows 10, a new screen capture hotkey combination was introduced. Out-of-the-box Windows 10 includes a few ways to take screenshots of the entire screen or active window. Capturing entire screen to clipboard. PrtScrn (or Ctrl + PrtScrn): These keyboard shortcuts. Full-Screen Captures (Windows 10, 8, and 7) No matter which Windows version you run, capture a screenshot of the entire desktop by pressing the PrtScn (or Print Screen, or on some laptops Fn + Prnt Scrn). Using PrtScn takes a screenshot of the full screen and copies it to your system clipboard.
Steps to Disable Caps Lock Notifications on Windows 10
Switch Off the Toggle Keys
- Take a screenshot of a Window If you only want to capture the Active Window, and not the whole screen, just press ALT + PRTSCN and the active window will be saved in the image. An active window is the current program you are running.
- The screen will dim briefly as the screen is recorded and saved to the Screenshots folder of your Pictures library under “This PC.” Method 2: If your typecover has a PrtScn key, you can also take a screenshot by holding down the Windows key on your keyboard and pressing PrtScn. The screen will be saved to the Screenshots folder described in.
Another method to mute Caps Lock notifications is to disable Toggle Keys.
- Go back to Settings.
- And click on Ease of Access.
- Then select the Keyboard tab (left-hand pane).
- Switch off the Toggle Keys.
Tweak NumLock and CapsLock Settings
Note: The steps to turn off Caps Lock alerts may be different on your machine. Different computer manufacturers may have different ways to mute the Caps Lock notifications.
Some users won’t be able to use the method below. That’s because not all the options may be available on your device.
Screen Cut In Windows
- Go to Settings.
- Then select System.
- Click on Display.
- Scroll down to Advanced display settings.
- Scroll down and click on Display adapter properties.
- Then go to the Screen configurations tab.
- Locate the Properties window, and tick the Enable on-screen display box.
- Locate the Indicatorsettings for NumLock and CapsLock.
- There’s a section called While the numeric lock or caps lock is ON.
- Select Show the indicator for a few seconds.
This won’t make the Caps Lock notifications go away completely. But at least they’ll disappear automatically after two seconds.
Use the Control Panel
There’s a handy Ease of Access feature under the Control Panel that you can use to control how long notification boxes remain visible on the screen.
- Launch the Control Panel and type ‘ease of access‘ in the search bar.
- Then scroll down to Adjust time limits and flashing visuals.
- Scroll down to Turn off all unnecessary animations. Enable this option.
- Set the Windows notification windows to remain open only for 5 seconds.

How to take a screenshot on Windows 10 with the PrtScn key
The simplest way to save a copy of whatever is on your computer screen is to simply press the 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard. It's usually labeled 'PrtScn' (or something very similar) and is located in the top row, among or near the Function keys.
On some keyboards (particularly laptops) you might need to trigger the Print Screen using the Function key (in other words, hold the Function key and then press PrtScn).

- Press PrtScn. This copies the entire screen to the clipboard. You can paste the screenshot into any program that displays images, like Paint or Microsoft Word.
- Press Alt + PrtScn. This copies the active window to the clipboard, which you can paste into another program.

How to take a screenshot on Windows 10 with Snipping Tool
Microsoft includes a much more flexible screenshot utility with Windows 10, called Snipping Tool.

How To Cap Screen On Windows 10
1. Start the Snipping Tool from the Start menu.
2. In the 'Mode' drop down, choose the kind of screenshot shape you want - you can choose anything from full screen to rectangular to a free-form shape.

4. If you want to include something like a tooltip, which only appears after a mouse movement, you can specify how long to wait before taking the screenshot using the Delay menu.
5. If you want to, once you've taken your screenshot, you can use the drawing tools to annotate the screenshot.
6. When you're done, click 'File' and then click 'Save As' to save the completed screenshot to your computer.
7. You can also click the copy button in the Snipping Tool window - it looks like two pages laid over one another - to copy the image to your clipboard.

The Game Bar is an overlay you can use within most Windows games to take screenshots and record video. Here's how to use it:
1. Start a game from the Start menu or the Xbox Console Companion program.
2. While playing the game, press the Windows key + G. The Game Bar overlay should appear.
